Sue Slack

SUE SLACK
Tuesday 3rd March – Friday 27th March

Sue draws and paints outdoors wherever possible in order to capture the seasonal changes and the effects these have on land and sea. This work is then developed in the studio: accentuating colour, simplifying shapes, reflecting rhythms of the land.

Ingirid Barton

INGRID BARTON
Tuesday 31st March – Friday 1st May

This land is full of gods, past, present, seen and unseen. We cannot say where or how they exist, but they flow through our minds, reflecting, just beneath the surface.

Frances Kelly

FRANCES KELLY
Tuesday 5th May – Friday 29th May

Blending nostalgic elements and contemporary multimedia, ‘Deeper Elevations’ focuses on the Whitby Cliff Lift, itself an integral part of Yorkshires’ coastal past. It aims to evoke emotions and memories of the viewer, contrasting acceptance of progress with the difficulty in letting go.

Helen Lambert

ANN CLARK & HELEN LAMBERT
Tuesday 2nd June – Friday 27th June

“These canvases celebrate my love of natural forms and through experimentation with scale and colour – become an explosive visual statement” Ann Clark

Four groups of adult art students from Bubwith, Ellerker, Hessle and Newport have assembled this exciting and diverse collection of work under the freely interpreted heading of flower.

ARTISTS & ADVENTURES: Illustrations from the Burnby Hall Collection
In January 1906, the adventurous Percy and Kate Stewart of Burnby Hall in Pocklington set out on what was to become the first of many round-the-world tours. Not content with the usual tourist destinations, they went in search of exhilaration and thrills. Three artists – Tom Hall, Edmund Caldwell and the renowned Richard Caton Woodville – were commissioned to provide visually stunning interpretations of their adventures. Working in collaboration with the Stewart Museum, Pocklington Arts Centre is delighted to present an exhibition of these amazing watercolour illustrations.

We are always delighted to hear from accomplished local and regional artists who would like to be considered for our exhibitions programme.
