| We all know it's wonderful to have friends.
And if you can make friends while you are supporting a worthwhile
venture in your local community, then that is doubly pleasing.
The Friends of Pocklington Arts Centre are a special group of people. They are from all walks of life, of different ages, and in common - give all their support to Pocklington Arts Centre. They want more from it than just sitting on a seat there. They enjoy being involved. Why do we need you to join us? If you are someone who believes that having a thriving place in your town where young and old enjoy watching films, see plays, laugh at comedians and be introduced to a range of music and art - then you are already half way to becoming a Friend. You can be involved socially or in active volunteering - meeting people in a friendly atmosphere. Some Friends like to help the Arts Centre by giving a few hours a month, helping the management with a range of interesting jobs. You could help on the box-office, sell ice-creams or show people to their seats and take responsibility for their safety, whilst watching a performance. You can also help with leaflet or poster distribution. Alternatively, you may have ideas for fund-raising. In order to make a success of the Pocklington Arts Centre, we would like you to join us.
