Primrose Wood Acoustics: Martin Simpson supported by Katie Spencer

Thursday 8th July @ 7:00 PM

Primrose Wood Acoustics: The Dunwells supported by Rachel Croft

The Dunwells are an acclaimed Leeds based Indie-folk / Americana band with strong vocals, powerful melodies and heartfelt lyrics. Their debut album “Blind Sighted Faith” was released in 2012 following which they have released a further 6 albums/EP’s. The band have performed at both PAC and Platform Festival in recent years and gained a large, dedicated fanbase.

Rachel Croft’s songwriting is cinematic, moody and classic; atmospheric backdrops champion her powerful, dramatic vocals, smoothly blending folk, rock, and soul styles. Her abilities have landed her in the spotlight of many UK festivals and tours across Europe, catching the attention of BBC Music, csgm blog, POPMUZIK and Liverpool Sound and Vision. Rachel’s much anticipated EP “Reap What You Sow” drops this summer, and explores a more potent, bluesy style.

Event & Location info:

Please note this event takes place open air in Primrose Wood, Pocklington.

There are no toilets on-site but we have arranged to use the facilities at Pocklington Cricket Club and their bar will be open from 6.30pm and after the event for customers. As there is no bar on-site, there will only be a short interval during the artist change over period with the event scheduled to finish at 8.40pm.

You can access the location from both main entrances to Primrose Wood via Burnby Lane and The Balk, with the event taking place close to the Burnby Lane (YO42 2QB) entrance. There is no parking on-site but Pocklington Cricket Club have kindly agreed to let event customers use their carpark (YO42 2QB) for the duration of the event. Altnernatively you can park in the town centre and walk in. The site is fully accessible but please note there is a wood chip entrance point and uneven surfaces within the woods. Seating will be provided, please do not bring your chairs to the event. Blankets are permitted but hopefully the british summer is kind to us.

The event is weather permitting and may be cancelled at short notice, if not safe to go ahead. Social distancing restrictions are scheduled to be removed prior to the events taking place but should this change, restrictions may be reintroduced and made a condition of entry.
